The Betterback posture support improves posture immediately while you sit in your chair. It keeps you from slouching when sitting for a long time.
It’s ideal for you if you are an office worker or you sit most of the day at a desk. This is because it will help to train your back to align itself properly and correct your posture.
Is it for me and my line of work?
The Betterback posture support is certainly a very good and well-made product.
However, it is not ideal for you if get up and down a lot from your desk. I say this because it takes around 10 seconds to take on and off each time to adjust and correct properly.
Personally, I think it’s best used when you know you will not be interrupted for a while (which will rule out a few jobs!)
That’s because taking it on and off frequently could become a hassle. It’s not that it’s difficult, just that the few seconds needed to take the Betterback on and off would certainly make for a frustrating day at the office if you are up and down like a jack-in-the-box!
What are the weak points of the Betterback posture support?
After using it for a while, I feel it could do with some loops to help adjust the knee pads. They become quite tight and hard to move once it is on and fitted.
The thing is, it’s hard to know exactly where they will go until you have tightened it properly so this is something you have to do last.
It’s not a major issue, but certainly something which I mentioned to the inventor, Katherine Krug, by e-mail. She has since replied and said she would look to possibly implement it in future.
Another thing I think could be better is the padding on the inside of the knee pads. For some reason this seems to be on the outside of them but not the inside.
I have found if I wear it quite tightly it becomes a little uncomfortable so some extra padding here would be helpful, but not essential.
I get on with mine very well as it is but this could be better in future.
How does Betterback compare with other similar posture support products?
The guys over at compare-products.net have done a very detailed comparison on the Betterback compared to Nada Chair and Verti Back posture support.
In brief, Betterback is slightly cheaper than Nada Chair and the Verti Back.
It is very similar in design to Nada Chair and Verti Back. Judging from the photos of the Verti Back, it has slightly more padding around the knees.
Being completely honest, I’ve not used either the Nada Chair or the Verti Back so can’t compare them much further than the above!
What are the best things about the Betterback posture support?
The Betterback is incredibly portable and packs up into its own bag.
You can pack it away in seconds and it fits into backpacks. For the ladies, I would say it’s definitely too big for a handbag!
If you are worried about looking silly at the office, fear not – Betterback is discreet enough for you not to stand out at your desk at work as very little of it is visible from above the desk.
Why am I promoting Betterback posture support?
Just so you know, I bought my Betterback a few months ago and decided I liked it so much I would promote it on my site.
